Special Classes

At Indian Trail, Scholars participate in special classes every day. During most school days, scholars will attend two 30-minute special classes. Below are the classes offered at Indian Trail:

Music:
Scholars at Indian Trail have the opportunity to engage in general music class, band, and orchestra. Scholars are able to explore musical concepts, different instruments, and the important elements related to musical inquiry.

Art:
Scholars participate in art class with their homeroom for 60 minutes weekly. Art provides opportunities for scholars to create and engage in projects where they can demonstrate knowledge of the methods, materials, and techniques unique to the visual arts. In addition, Students will demonstrate knowledge of the elements and principles of design.

Library:
Scholars have the opportunity to attend library weekly. The library is set up as a hub within the school where scholars can make connections with the global community through independent inquiry. Students are taught to use technology and foster an appreciation for literature and learning. Check out Mrs. Grost's blog here

Physical Education (PE):
Students have physical education every day at Indian Trail as we believe it is important for students to get up and move every day. Indian Trail houses two gyms, a state of the art climbing wall, and plenty of outdoor space. Every day students practice the behaviors and apply the skills to adopt and maintain life-long physical activity.
